Role of School Board Member

School Board Members ensure that the District’s policies and practices are focused on student achievement. School Board Members connect the district to the community and are accountable to the community for delivering results. They facilitate the relationship with the community through transparency and good communication. It is their duty to ensure taxpayer money is spent in the most efficient and effective manner for the education of children. Finally, they hire, supervise, and evaluate the Superintendent while recognizing that the Superintendent manages the day-to-day operations of her or his staff and the district.
